Holiday gift Fox portrait for one of my roommates
I was very excited to be asked to illustrate the cover for the March issue of VT Kids, which happened to be their their summer camp issue.
The cover was to reflect an article about several sorts of summer camps including computer camp, horse back riding camp, gymnastics camp, sailing camp and wizard camp.
I wish that wizard camp had been an option when I was a kid. I’ve always been kind of fascinated by summer camp, I went to scout camp as a child but it’s not quite the same as what I’ve been lead to believe summer camp is all about based on some of my favorite media portrayals such as Happy Campers, Wet Hot American Summer and Salute Your Shorts.
I’ve never been scuba diving and I’m not sure if I’d want to, mostly because of my lingering childhood fear of being held underwater.
I’ve been in kids illustration mode lately and it’s an awful lot of fun.
Here are some facts:
1. Space travel is awesome.
2. Animals break things.
I was recently asked to contribute a piece to the Supahcute Science Fair show at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland and as a science dork I was pretty excited to be a part of the show. This is something I’ve actually been kicking around for a little while and this was a great reason to finally develop it. The show opens Saturday, March 8 from 6-10pm at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland in Los Angeles with music by DJ Laminlove and sweets by Auntie Apple and Amara Kitchen, so if you happen to be in LA you should stop by.

When traveling abroad it is generally not advisable to put on any ancient and/or sinister amulets you happen to find laying around.
I’ve been meaning to do something with the character forever, and last week I finally figure out something and then proceeded to drive myself crazy trying to finish this in time. This probably won’t be the last you see of her.
Also Cake doughnut are better than yeast doughnuts.

I refuse to accept that summer is almost over, so here’s to hanging out by the river/stream/creek or other similar body of water.
