This year I’ve decided to share some of my favorite gifts for the holiday season.  Trouble is, I can’t tell you about some of the things I’m most excited to give because they have yet to be given (and I’d hate to spoil the surprise)!  But nonetheless, here are some of my favorite gifts to give (and get!!) for everyone on your list this holiday.

This insanely clever Film Map is at the top of my wishlist this year–a fictional map made up of locations inspired by a variety of classic and favorite films–the “Field of Dreams,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Reservoir Dogs” reservoir feature prominently, with hundreds of other gems to be discovered.  Available from Dorothy for £25. 

My English Major self has always lusted after this ampersand T from Ugmonk.  Currently on sale for $20 at Fab.

My love for Hoxton Street Monster Supplies is no secret, and I recently visited their pop-up shop at the Somerset House Christmas Arcade to stock up on some great gifts and stocking stuffers.  Available online at Hoxton Street Monster Supplies for £4.

For the fabulous and adventuresome on your list, check out these wild manicure kits from Ciaté.  I love the idea of having wild 3D nails–definitely a statement!  The set pictured above is called “Rainbow” and is available for $25 at Bloomingdales.  Check out their other caviar, sequin, and “velvet” manicure sets at various department and beauty stores, too!

I love Fred’s quirky housewares, and I couldn’t resist these denture ice cube trays–always a conversation-starter!  They’re available for $7 at Perpetual Kid, or you can check out Fred’s other wild ice cube trays if the dentures are a little too gross for you!

Buying music as a gift can be risky, but introducing someone to a new band can be the gift that keeps on giving.  I am ridiculously obsessed with Two Door Cinema Club’s new album, “Beacon,” and I highly recommend you check it out for the indie rock lover on your list.  Available at your local record shop (yes, “record”–this is vinyl-worthy), at online retailers, and iTunes. 

I recently had the pleasure of attending the opening of Gallery 1988’s Judd Apatow tribute show, where I picked up this Roland LeFox print for my little brother’s college apartment.  Perfect for the Anchorman superfan in your life (we all have one!).  Available for $25 at Gallery 1988. 

I discovered these great pillows at the Museum of Robots booth at Comic Con this summer.  They wonderfully balance grown-up classiness with unexpected sci-fi quirkiness.  $79 at Museum of Robots (check out their cool animal pillows as well!).

Geodes are in, but it can be tricky to find a fresh, fashionable interpretation that doesn’t look like a new age talisman (though that can also be cool!) or a kid’s rock collection.  This necklace from Urban Aviary hits the nail on the head, making geodes chic and wearable.  Available at Urban Aviary (their other pieces are great, too!), $55 for silver, $65 for gold.   

This little hardcover picture book, “Zombies Hate Stuff” by Greg Stones, had me in stitches.  It’s adorable and hilarious, and it turns out zombies hate a lot of stuff!  The art is wonderful, charming, and so very, very funny.  $10 at your local bookstore, or Amazon. 

Is that a classy old-school key on your keychain?  It looks like it, but instead of a door, this key opens beer bottles.  Fun and cool-looking, it allows you to have a bottle opener on hand when you need it, and be a secretive “key” when you don’t.  Made by Suck UK, it’s available for $4 on Amazon.  

This black and white map of London is made of felt and comes with pins to stake out places you’ve been, favorite places, friend’s places, planned places…  I love the idea of putting up ticket stubs and photos from different locations as well!  (Yes, for anyone wondering, this is most definitely on my Christmas list!!)  It’s called “Pin City London” by Palomar and is currently on sale for $45 at Fab (and also available in light blue!), where they also have similar maps of Paris and Amsterdam.
