Baby & your life purpose
The presence of a baby in any setting invites people to have ‘eureka moments’ or slowly recognize and trust their own hunches. Ever sense there is more than one reason you have a baby or encounter babies? What kinds of thoughts arise inside?
Aspiring parents may find themselves thinking silently, “I want one or another one.” Parents may feel deep appreciation for the blessing of their child/ children or notice other emotions. Consider what stands out for you; perhaps the idea of a legacy or miracle? Perhaps thoughts of what you wish to do or would not repeat if avoidable.
The essence of the thinking mind is that it thinks about the past and future. What you think is conditioned by your past, by what you are told and choose to believe. How does baby draw your attention to different views of your life purpose? Not something to believe in, but to be known, first-hand.
Consider sleep-deprived caregivers may begin to feel their purpose includes lessons about the benefits of having less of something. How much sleep you get or do not get does not influence the deep love and gratitude you feel, or what words cannot say. The phrase 'less is more’ can take on new meaning. How do you relate here?
Consider how you feel when you are attending a funeral and see a baby among the guests. Notice the mixed emotions. You may feel grief and sadness of loss for the deceased. Your mind may focus on memories or how life would be if the deceased was still alive. In the same moment, seeing the baby triggers something. Shedding tears may relate less to perceived loss than to remembering the timeless feeling of joy that keeps loved ones close to the heart. It can also be a reminder to make the most of time you are given, to know everything is temporary and cycles come full circle.
Somewhere, deep inside, part of you knows the purpose of life can include one or many things, but love is always the glue that holds everything together. Allowing time to control you and your emotions may cause you to forget the answer is love. Many people hope for more time to fulfill or satisfy themselves. Another perspective is that everything you experience in the time you are given invites you to recognize a message of love. This implies choosing to appreciate yourself and others more fully.
