New Blog Design
I’ve always wanted to redesign my blog and I finally had some time to do so. Yay! For the past 2 days, I’ve been looking for a suitable tumblr theme and was trying to design my blog using my amateur design skills. I also played around with the settings, did some trial and error to see what looks better. And, this is what I came out with. How do you find this new layout? :)
Old Blog Design:
The screen shot above is the template of my old blog design. I like the simplicity and neat layout of this theme. However, the downside of this theme is that it does not allow much customization. I could not make changes to the fonts, colours and layout. I wanted to add a little personal touch to this blog. Therefore, I’m always looking forward to do a little transformation. And I’m really happy that I finally did it. :)
New Blog Design:
This is a screen shot of my new blog design. I kept it simple and clean since I wanted it to be easy for the eye. I want my blog to look neat, nothing too fancy. So I decided to go with a grey, black and white theme with a little tinge of red hearts. Some of you may not know, I’m really into “stripes”. That explains the grey and white stripes on the banner. I also added a big Little Yarn Friends header, accompanied with our little motto at the bottom. The little hearts symbolizes the love for this amazing hobby turned into passion, the love, care and support we’ve share throughout my crocheting journey, as well as the love and kindness I’ve received from all my fellow readers and friends. The banner and sidebar logo were done using Powerpoint. *laugh* Yes. I told you I’m an amateur. At least I tried my best to portray what I wanted to, right? *grin* :D
New Sidebar:
What I like most about my new blog design is this customized sidebar. These useful headers and social buttons are created to help my lovely readers to navigate around easier and to help them in finding what they want. I might be adding more features to my blog in future.
One last thing which I hope to add is a cute Little Yarn Friends’ Mascot! I want a little amigurumi mascot that will be featured somewhere on the main page. I’m still brainstorming what suits best. Any suggestions? :)
Hope you’re liking the new blog design. Feel free to share your comments, feedbacks and suggestions.
Love, Rachel H
