In 2006, a small horror movie premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival to much studio frenzy and bidding wars. ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE became a cult classic with audiences across the globe, launching the careers of director Jonathan Levine and star Amber Heard.
American fans weren’t so lucky, as the movie was tangled in legal knots for years. It still gained fans in the United States, even though the only way to watch was by downloading the movie for free from BitTorrent and other file-sharing platforms.
