Leo Hollis published a fantastic review of the concepts and narrative of some tech corporations (particularly, Zappos in Las Vegas) as urbanists.
Great article about “Start-up-urbanism” and the dangers of gentrification by that exemplified particularly with a kind of hybrid project in downtown Las Vegas and other examples at San Francisco and London. Like always - unilateral concepts implemented in a corps of diversity - a city as “the key thing” just don’t work and cause more harm than a clever neighborhood management with bottom-up and top-down-concepts collaborating - evaluating and integrating community needs - trying to balance socio-economical interests.
