SOS EXPERIMENT
This year at PhootCamp I wanted to try something I haven’t attempted before. The SOS pad sparks. I basically took some steel wool, or SOS pads and frayed them out into a ball. I put 3 pads together and wrapped a metal wire around them to hold them in place. I then took a swivel hook and a chain to attach the wire holding the steel wool to. Light it on fire, tell your subject to hold as still as possible while swinging it around. The longer your exposure the more spark emitters you get. Make sure to have a tripod for this. Exposure times varied between 5-10 seconds.
