Everyone needs a community of support. Pets are important members of our community.
Research shows that pets improve our physical health, and overall sense of well-being. Pets lower our blood pressure and heart rate and reduce our risk of heart attack or stroke. The comforting presence of a pet boosts brain chemistry to fight anxiety and depression. We are less stressed, more content, less lonely, and more motivated if we have a pet to take care of.
