1. Stay in the boat. the church is like a boat. It is the old ship Zion, don’t jump out in the middle of the ocean.  She will carry us safely to the harbor. Be continuously converted.

River Guides are like Prophets and teachers today. Church leaders do no live in a bubble, they are not out of touch.

2. Always wear a life jacket. Searching the scriptures diligently.  live and love the doctrine. gain a testimony of the doctrine.

3. Hold on with both hands. avoid becoming distracted.  Don’t lose focus on the central principles of the gospel. Rely on the testimonies of prophets. Don’t focus on the questions or doubts. It’s good to have questions and seek greater understanding. But don’t let them become your greatest concern.

Bear one another’s burdens.  If you do fall out of the boat, people are always there to help you back in.
