Many of you asked more information about the community garden dinner post. The community dinner series is one of many summer events planned by the newly formed CLIP (Community Leaders Initiative for Permaculture) club, which is overseen by Lehigh Professor Breena Holland.  The first dinner was held at the Esperanza garden, located by the Chinese Pavilion on the Greenway. The garden was created after Lehigh University student Emily Gibbs met with Mayor Donchez asking the city for new garden space. This project is entirely student driven and very much about working together to engage Bethlehem residents and students alike in growing, eating and celebrating the importance of fresh local food. CLIP club leaders Emily Gibbs, Katelyn Armbruster and Heather Doll prepared all of the food for Tuesday’s meal. We love this student driven, grass roots project and the work they do with the Boys and Girls club. You can learn about CLIP and their upcoming community garden events here.
