Cloud Atlas

Excuse me while my blog becomes a fandom for Cloud Atlas…

I just watched the movie, and now I want to read the book. It’s a great story about the interconnected-ness of our lives, and the constant forces that cause history to repeat itself. It also has inspiring themes about standing up for human rights against institutionalized malevolence (slavery, elder abuse, futuristic genetic engineering, and post apocalyptic cannibals).

Sci fi is great because it can transcend the pop culture of current events and explore themes in a disconnected realm.

Anyway, I highly recommend Cloud Atlas as a good watch/read. Albeit a little confusing at first, it’s well worth it.
