Basics
Pacific Media Expo (PMX) is the premiere cross-cultural trade show
dedicated to promoting the Pacific Rim’s entertainment and media industries. PMX is focused on cultural exports such as anime, music, live action films, fashion, and manga/comics. PMX is also a showplace for two new generations in entertainment: Asian-American joint media projects and Asian-American artists.
Influenital Fashion & Design
Mari Nakamura, head designer for one of the highly coveted Lolita brands Juliette et Justine! Additionally, Juliette et Justine brought pieces to sell in the PMX Fashion Boutique, and was featured in the PMX Fashion Show. Known for their incorporation of 18th and 19th century paintings, Juliette et Justine is one of the most sought after Classic Lolita brands in Japan.
MARUQ, the official and exclusive retailer of brands like: LIZ LISA, TRALALA, and LIZ LISA doll, brought cute and edgy fashion that made hearts melt. Feminine and romantic, LIZ LISA is known for their beautiful floral prints and perfectly tailored dresses. MARUQ participated in the fashion show, showcasing coordinates from LIZ LISA and TRALALA (& LIZ LISA doll).
Baby, The Stars Shine Bright returned to PMX 2013! Baby, the Stars Shine Bright is known for their classically sweet looks and has been a leading force in the Gothic Lolita world since its creation.
HaeNuLi, Korean designer, also returned for 2013 PMX Fashion Show!
The Snow Field joining the PMX fashion lineup. Quickly gaining popularity in the Lolita scene, The Snow Field is an indie label to keep your eye on.
Clockwork Couture has been turning heads with their beautiful Steampunk inspired, ready-to-wear apparel, and was part of the PMX Fashion Boutique’s stellar line-up.
Fairytale Boutique was an official vendor in the PMX Fashion Boutique this year. Opening their doors in June of 2012, Fairytale Boutique has become a local hot-spot for Los Angeles fashionistas, offering new and pre-owned, Japanese designer street fashion and accessories.
dolldelight - Inspired by Harajuku street fashion, Cyril Lumboy launched dolldelight four years ago, initially creating headpieces and then quickly expanding to include a line of custom dresses. She has received accolades for her progressive work which incorporates sweet, gothic, punk, and other aesthetics. Returning to the stage, dolldelight was part of 2013 PMX Fashion Show!
One Day in Paradise also attended PMX 2013. One Day in Paradise opened its doors in December 2008 to meet the needs of Australia’s lolita fashion community and beyond.
