Gary Sauer stands by the flag pole at Icicle Ridge Lookout, where he served as fire watch in the summers of 1961 and 1962.

This is posted in his memory.  My father passed away July 1, 2014 at age 72. He was a optimistic man who lived an adventurous life.  He was 50 years old when he parasailed from Coney Lake to Leavenworth Washington and accomplished his childhood dream of flying home from high mountain lakes with a backpack full of fish.  In June of 2013 my son and I climbed to the lookout site to experience the view for ourselves. This black and white photograph was shot with my grandfather’s Kodak 1A series iii.
