I find it sad that most photographs just live on the internet (or even worse, on forgotten hard drives) these days. This inspired me to put together some sort of photo zine, consisting of photos that have just been collecting digital dust over the years. It seems logical to start with live music, since it has been such a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember.

So, the first issue is completely dedicated to bands (30 or so over 40 pages) playing live between 2008 and 2014. It mainly covers bands whose visual history lives on the internet - on blogs, in flickr albums etc. Some are long gone, most are still going, some are doing much better than they were at time the pictures were taken.

I’m not a professional photographer by any means. Most of these photos were taken with a basic digital compact or a plastic Mini Diana 35mm film camera. A few were taken with a rather basic DSLR. It’s not really the quality of the photos or the photography that’s the point here, it’s just taking the pictures out into the physical world. I like to hold things in my hands, maybe someone else will too.

It’s under the working title Pictures Make Great Pets, since I have a blog (never really updated these days) called Records Make Great Pets, but that might all change by the time I print it. I will probably do 50 copies to see if anyone is actually interested and I am aiming to have the first issue ready at some point in February.

Also, Adobe InDesign is a total bitch.
