Actor and director Mark Rylance supports We Stand With Shaker, and says, "As long as Shaker, an innocent British resident, remains in a foreign prison we are all responsible - not just our government - and required to demand his immediate release as if he was our father, our son, our friend, us, ourselves. We do not accept false imprisonment of anyone.“

Mark was photographed on 10 December 2014, Human Rights Day, in Trafalgar Square, where he and Vanessa Redgrave read from Shaker’s Declaration of No Human Rights, written in Guantánamo, which was his response to the US betrayal of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, approved by the UN 66 years before, on December 10, 1948.
