Can we talk about this line? Because it makes me so sad. It’s such a reflexive denial. ‘Loki’s my brother…except when he’s done something I disapprove of.’ Thor doesn’t even think before he repeats it. 'He’s adopted’ may be the new verse, but you get the feeling it’s an old, old song. Loki’s one of us…except when he’s not. Thor messes up, goes to Jotunheim, gets banished to earth, and his friends stand by him. Loki becomes king, starts to act oddly, and they all turn against him. No wonder Loki’s so messed up he needs to brainwash people into being his friends. That’s the only way he could possibly trust they wouldn’t turn against him.

(It must have hurt him terribly when he lost Clint.)
