USA Men’s National team is taking on Poland again in an hour! (actually now, since I posted this late) Friday nights match was crazy, even though USA fell to Poland it was an awesome match to watch (22:25, 25:19, 25:13, 28:30, 16:18)

I thought USA had it for sure after they won 25:19 and then 25:13, but Poland turned it around and won in 5. 

The Polish crowd was veryyy impressive, I wish our men’s and women’s national team could bring in that many fans when playing here in the USA.

The men’s team recently took on Bulgaria in Reno, here in the USA, and when watching the online feed I was really disappointed in the crowd.. there was almost no one there. 

Not many international matches get played here in the US so when they I know it’s our chance to grow the game and make people becomes fans. But the weird thing is that it’s just international volleyball here in the US that is struggling, the college level is getting a lot of support growing support. 

In the picture backgrounds you can see how there are SO many empty seats.

Reno is not a very big volleyball city so maybe that has something to do with the low turn out, but still. Seeing all the fans in Katowice, Poland filling up every single seat in the gym and to the top was awesome. I’m sure the fans that bought the tickets all the way at the top didn’t even care that the players looked like little pepper specs on the floor, they were just excited to be apart of the craziness.

That’s another reason why I am excited to return to Poland, the fans and volleyball support is always great. 

BUT on a positive note, we are making big strides towards growing the game here in the US and advertising the game, so maybe one day we can bring out Polish size crowds for a game here in the US.
