    I.U.[Heart] at The Third Line

    image

Previewing tonight at The Third Line is ‘I.U.[Heart]‘, a group show featuring the Iranian artists Mahmoud Bakhshi, Shahab Foutouhi, Arash Hanaei, Mamali Shafahi and Vahid Sharifian. Each of these young artists grew up after the 1979 revolution and it is their complicated relationship with the Iran of yesterday and tomorrow that is at the heart of the exhibition. The show also features a number of installations (including Mamali Shafahi’s ‘I.U.[Heart]‘ pictured above), which particularly interests me.

The discoballbreaker mixtape for this show features many songs of revolution and displacement. I’d still like to think it’s a hopeful mix though. Do you agree?
