The SEAM Store      I recently ordered a custom made laptop case... | One Stitch in the Seam

I recently ordered a custom made laptop case for my new Macbook Pro. A similar model is pictured above (I had mine made with a Harris Tweed label, of course). It took a couple weeks to be made, and it finally arrived yesterday. I purchased it from an Etsy seller named Terry. Her store name is SewMuchStyle. She repurposes tweed sport coats and makes some pretty unique stuff. What could be more perfect for a guy like me?

The bag is very well made. The stitching throughout is clean and straight. You can tell she has been making these for a while.

Features:

  • 2 full size compartments (one fully padded for Macbook storage)
  • 6 additional pockets, 3 large, 3 small.
  • Adjustable shoulder strap, reinforced with nylon webbing with rubber shoulder pad grip.
  • Brass and leather hardware for shoulder stap and trunk-style luggage latches.
  • Sturdy, reinforced khaki lining.

The bag itself has two large pockets inside. One with extra padding for the laptop. It has 3 pockets on the “dividing wall” of the two large pockets. One of the 3 pockets is about half the length of the bag, the other two are small and thin for pencils and other things you might carry. There are also 2 additional pockets under the flap when you open the bag….plus a Sport Coat flap pocket on the exterior of the flap, perfect for stashing business cards for quick access. The main flap is secured with 2 leather luggage straps with push button releases.

It has no handle, but I’m sure she would add one if you would prefer one. It has an adjustable shoulder strap with solid metal hardware. The strap is tweed on the outside, backed with your traditional nylon webbing strap that you would normally see on a laptop bag, and is attached to the bag with leather tabs. It also has the standard rubber shoulder grip pad typical on most bags of this sort. The shoulder strap is not removable, but I’m sure she could accommodate.

She did a great job. Unfortunately, due to my poor direction, it’s not exactly what I was looking for in color. I had said Gray or Beige Tweed, and she thought I meant Gray and Beige tweed. Anyway, no problem…..she contacted me right away and is making me a new bag to my liking.
