“Kelsey Snook designs narrative environments - experiences to tell stories and empower people to have a place in the stories that are told around them. She is part of the collective trio, www.livingwithourtime.com.”

TELLING TALES
London, 2007

How do you get passers-by to stop and listen to a collection of stories? How do you promote a small group effort and share it with the community at large?

As part of a regeneration plan for London’s Hammersmith and Fulham neighbourhood, Barons Court Library asked for a strategy to promote the stories being generated by their community groups.

This interactive chair encouraged people to rock back and forth and listen to a range of voices from the Fulham community, telling stories collected through Reading Project workshops. Full versions of the stories were published in a booklet available to borrow from Fulham and Barons Court Libraries. The chair made a tour throughout the borough, being hosted for weeks at a time by different schools, groups and local businesses who had participated in the project.
