Twas The Night B4 Election….

…and all through the states, the economy struggled.., not looking too great.

unemployment rates high, with no one to care, in hopes that prosperity soon would be shared

we all could remember our “hope” and our “change”, but most had seen nothing and struggles remained

the previous election in 2008, had proved to divide us, renewed us for hate

stopped working together.., we cared for our own, we all lost our jobs, some even their homes.

as I lay in my bed, with lies in my head…, the hope I envisioned, had none to withstand

some say we’ve progressed, some say we’ve reversed, both candidates viewpoints looked strongly rehearsed,

don’t know who to trust, don’t know what is truth, can’t help but to see myself standing aloof,

then all of a sudden, I look in the mirror, and ask myself how could I make ME see clearer,

it’s too late to learn about what all’s at stake, we can’t even eat all of what’s on our plate,

apparent that we’ve dug ourselves in a hole, it’s not who we vote for, it’s what we’ve been sold,

I can say that it’s not as bad as 08’, but I can’t say that I’ve got 4 years left to wait,

I can say that I learned my lesson before, to vote for our country, and quit keeping score,

we work best together, divided we fall, so I’ll vote for America and not drop the ball,

I’m tired of fighting and ready to learn, from people not like me and those that I’ve burned,

the hatred of fortune and class and of race, won’t make me close-minded, and vote out of haste,

this time I’ll be thoughtful and careful at best, and vote to be selfless and help out the rest,

I know that I’ve worked hard to get what I’ve got, and know that we don’t HOPE ourselves to the top,

we work for the CHANGE, where America was founded, and not with exceptions and slick ways around it,

I know that opportunities don’t grow on trees, and jobs don’t come knocking in exchange for degrees,

we’ve learned we have to own up to mistakes, stop blaming the government for choices we make,

we want to see progress and reward for our risks, we can’t just depend on our President for this,

It’s up to the things that we dream for ourselves, our drive to be different, and hunger for wealth,

tomorrow when you fill your lines on your ballot, please don’t forget how our country’s a salad,

majority green, with mixed veggies for taste, the melting pot analogy is not quite the same,

don’t vote just for you, or similarities alike, vote for America (!!!) for strangers that fight,

for freedom, for justice, for everything we love, and always consult with the Man up above,

don’t let tomorrow pass regretting your ignorance, and hope for our government to be your deliverance,

just make sure you VOTE, just make sure you VOTE, please make sure to vote.., again… make sure to vote,

because if you don’t, you’ll be the LONE fool, that complains of results, without reading the rules,

like playing monopoly, mad ‘cause you lost, but selling your Boardwalk without checking costs,

when they announce the results, on Twitter you post, I’m moving to Canada or “ha, what a joke”,

make sure you’ve partaken your piece of our pie, at least you were heard, and did so with pride,

remembering our ancestor’s blood sweat and tears, WAKE THE F*** UP, and DO WORK this year.
