Leopard Print Eyes
- Model - Katie Swift
- Photographer - Martin Higgs
Here is a look I did for a creative beauty shoot a couple of years ago now. I had purchased some amazing Leopard print lashes from Eyelur, so these were the inspiration for the look.
This look took about 15 minutes to complete, so it’s a nice easy one to do!
- Prep the skin with moisturiser, and pat off the excess moisture with a tissue.
- Block out the brow using soap: comb through the brows, wet the bar of soap and swipe over the hairs, flattening them to the skin. Leave to dry.
- I apply a medium coverage liquid foundation with a damp sponge, making sure to coat the brows well, hiding any colour of the flattened hair.
- Next, I took a really reflective bronzer (I used a cheapy one from a bronzing kit someone bought me from TJ Hughes) and using a fluffy brush I buffed the bronzer over the lids, meeting across the bridge of the nose between the eyes. I followed down the sides of the bridge of the nose and up onto the forehead (creating a “V” shape, leaving the middle of the forehead untouched) making sure to cover the brows well.
- Then I took Kryolan’s cake eyeliner. Dipping my liner brush into water and mixing it on the cake liner, I then created Leopard print patterns over the bronzed areas. The best way is to not be too precise on shapes. Try making “C” shapes with your liner brush, but blob the top or bottom of the “C” so you get a more realistic pattern. I drew smaller print towards the inner of the eye, and larger on the forehead.
- Using the same liner & brush, I created a feline cat-eye shape, along the top lash-line, winging it out quite far at the end. Then, I lined the lower lash-line and joined the liner at both ends of the eye, creating a slight point on the inner of the eyes.
- I coated the lashes with a small amount of Black mascara and then applied the lashes to the top lid. While they were drying, I applied a small amount of pressure onto the lashes so they dried facing downwards slightly, so when we took the shot, you would see the beautiful pattern on the lashes.
- Lastly, for the overall image, we held a plant pot in front of the model face to give the jungle feel to the look.
