Christmas Morning Oatmeal
allotted amount of (soy) milk (protein portion)
1 portion of steel cut oats
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
1 apple – peeled, cored, and slice ¼ inch thick
water
Mix the cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl. Add the apples, tossing to coat evenly. Pour into a slow cooker. Mix the oatmeal together with adequate amount of water and pour over the apple mixture in the slow cooker. Do not stir. Cover, and cook on low for 8 hours. Stir before serving. Spoon into bowl and top with milk.
