Can we talk about these fucking tags? “gay marriage, homosexuality, equality, lgbt, lgbtqia, lgbtqipa? Do NOT write lgbtqia when you really mean ‘gaytriarchy.’ I didn’t realize there were reasonably socially concscious people who were still asshole-y enough to call this ‘gay’ marriage. Like, I know y’all think that marriage equality is important, because queer youth of color dying on the streets isn’t fashionable, but come the fuck on. This is one of the most asinine things I’ve seen all day.
Yes actually. We can talk about it. The reason I added the fucking LGBTQIA tag is because the meme (which I didn’t create) had the word gay in it.
Yeah, it had the word gay in it, which is, what, one letter out of many? Gay does not represent the entirety of the queer community, and using LBGTQIA to refer to GAY people is ridiculous. Go intersectional or go home. So, yeah, fuck this noise. You’re a joke.
Pseudo heroism is the new activism. Also, since you decided to ignore my other post,
Also, to further add to the point, in case your next hollow response will be “why did you share it then”, it is contextual. I’m from india, and yesterday QUEER PEOPLE (yes, that’s what many people like to identify as) were declared criminals by law. Hence, this was contextually apt, since this came up and the community here often refers to itself differently. Also, I would appreciate if you would stop assuming everyone goes by your interpretation of what the words are defined as across contexts.
Tumblr pseudoheroism really pisses me off. And that’s MY opinion, not representative of the GSA campaign.
