Valeo LGBTQ Program at Chicago Lakeshore Hospital

Chicago Lakeshore Hospital is a provider of chemical dependency programs and behavioral health services. Through the facility’s LGBTQ program Valeo, Chicago Lakeshore Hospital helps members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning community deal with psychiatric and addiction-related issues. The program is conducted in a safe and affirming environment, by a staff of licensed experienced professionals.

As a leading behavioral health service provider, Chicago Lakeshore Hospital has been helping LGBTQ patients for over 30 years. Staff members are required to complete sensitivity and cultural diversity training to ensure a consistent empathetic approach to treatment. The program frequently receives excellent ratings from inpatient and outpatient participants.

The inpatient program includes medically supervised detoxification, drug rehabilitation, and comprehensive discharge planning. The program is located in a dedicated LGBTQ area of the hospital’s General Adult Unit. The outpatient program is at 850 West Lawrence Avenue.
