Anonymous asked: Its quite sad to read that Stephen admitted to police that he smoked because jahar was his friend. Silva may have not been an angle but this truly shows how BMB has affected these kids. Rather than clean up their acts out of fear, they are just going further downward.

Keep in mind that he said that when he was busted for dealing weed.

I’m not saying he didn’t miss Jahar and that he wasn’t really stressed out that his friend was the bomber. However, I suspect he may have offered that as an excuse to explain the quantity of weed on his person: he was insinuating that he wasn’t dealing, it was all for his personal use.

As I just said in another post, holy shit, did that ever backfire. He shouldn’t have mentioned anything about Jahar. DOH.

You say that  all while knowing 4 UMASS student-friends put J above their own best interests as did Matanov? There is no escape from J and T’s electronic bread crumbs. Those thinking and acting that way will re-think it in a prison cell.

No, I mean I don’t think Stephen helped himself by mentioning Jahar. I can’t imagine LE would look more favorably upon a suspect who mentions that they are best friends with the person who blew up a marathon. To get out of the heroin charges he’s  going to give them what they want on Jahar. I can’t blame him if he does. At this point, I don’t think anything anyone says about Jahar can make things worse for Jahar. He can only be executed once and he only has one life with which to serve a life sentence.

As for Matanov, I believe that the evidence he destroyed was to cover his own ass. If the destruction of evidence helped Jahar, imo that was most likely purely incidental.
