The story behind this photograph:
It was probably about 2/3rds of the way through the Foxboro Hot Tub’s set at the Bowery Electric on April 25, 2010 … or maybe even in the very wee hours of the 26th. Everything was chaos, people were crowd surfing, the crowd was undulating in the tiny, sweaty club. About 100 Pabst Blue Ribbons were in circulation throughout the crowd (about 700 had already been consumed by the band, the crowd, or poured on the crowd already). I found myself in the front for this moment, sitting on the stage knee-high stage because I was tired of pushing the crowd back.
Had I not been in the front, I wouldn’t have noticed that Billie/The Rev was sitting down … about a foot from me … and didn’t look very well. He was in a daze, staring at a spot on the floor, before he looked up at one of the security guards and said “I think … I think I’m gonna be sick”.
The security guard went into a panic, yelling “Medic! Medic! We need a medic over here! Medic!”
And then, Billie/The Rev (whatever you wanna call him) looked around at the crowd, and the band, said, “No, no. Nevermind, I’m good,” and picked up another Pabst Blue Ribbon, sprung back up, and started singing again.
