I never had an easter egg hunt as a child, but made up for it with elaborate easter egg hunts for my own.

When we visited my folks in Elmira, participating in the Kiwanis Club’s ginormous annual easter egg hunt in Bolender Park was always a thrill. 

It was always a challenge to accumulate tiny toys the year before to fill the plastic eggs.  The easter bunny always left a note to tell us how many eggs were hidden.  Even so, we’d miss the odd very well hidden one.  (They still turn up every now and again :)  

This was always the most fun when doe with friends, or a cousin and one time even an aunt.
