Nonprofit organizations are using Instagram to connect with their supporters and share their missions through photos. Take a look at the different ways these three organizations are using Instagram to tell their stories.

Robin Hood NYC

Robin Hood (@robinhoodnyc) holds steadfast to a single mission: to fight poverty in New York City. The organization is using Instagram to live stream fan photos from a benefit concert on 9 June in Central Park featuring the Black Eyed Peas and worked with HD MADE to develop a custom photo visualization using Instagram’s API.

Oceana

Today is World Oceans Day, and Oceana (@oceana) is encouraging Instagrammers to share their photos of the ocean. Tag them #ocean to include them among the more than 12,000 ocean photos already on Instagram. Check out @oceana to see beautiful ocean photos and learn more about this fantastic organization that describes itself as: “Hating on offshore drilling, destructive fishing, and pollution. Loving up turtles, sharks, and clean energy.”

Surprise stowaway in Galapagos

charity: water (@charitywater) is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. On Instagram, the organization shares photos from the field, such as people celebrating the completion of a new charity:water well in their town, as well as snapshots from around the charity:water headquarters. Here’s a photo of the cutest donation check they’ve ever received!
