Wow.

If this was any other day, I would  be scared to death.  I would immediately be on the phone with my sister in San Diego.  I would have a sinking feeling in my stomach until I heard further news.  I would not be able to focus on work or anything else important to my life.

My brother-in-law is a Navy helicopter pilot.  Their family has lived in San Diego for 7 years.

But this day is not any other day, it’s today.  This is the day my sister, her husband, and their two beautiful young daughters are piling into their car and starting their 8-day trek across the country to their new home in Baltimore.

This is the day I sympathize the deaths of (at least) three aviators, and the day I celebrate the life of one and his family.
