Rental Car Advice

Hey. I’ve never rented a car before.

We’ll be in California for a week and probably renting for at least 5 days.

Please give me your advice!

    2. tj answered: Make sure the parking brake is disengaged before you attempt to drive out of the parking lot. Don’t ask.

    4. insooutso said: Hit up any and all friends for a corporate discount code. No proof of ID is required. Usually cuts the bill in half. Just ask friends to message you the info on Facebook.
    5. escapereality said: Check with your regular car insurance b/c it should include rental coverage, so don’t buy extra. Ask for what you want, don’t settle on a Chevy HHR. (*shudder/flashback*) Don’t buy any add-ons.

    13. squibble answered: go with mid-size or compact. that’s usually a solid mix with price and space. Also check with your insurance to see if they cover rentals.
