Mr. Bongay was born and raised in Sierra Leone to a family of successful entrepreneurs and community leaders. He came to the United States in the late 1990s to pursue graduate studies in Telecommunications at Vanderbilt University. Establishing Atlanta-based Leone Telecommunication, he managed complex installation and engineering projects for leading telecom providers such as Comcast Corporation and AT&T Inc.
With his current company, Francis Williams Bongay takes pride in his commitment to West African investments that improve people’s lives and provide outsized financial returns. Agricultural and construction projects over the past six years have provided many families with new homes and areas of land to cultivate. He is also spearheading water-drilling initiatives to bring abundant potable water to communities that previously relied on hand pumps for their limited supply. A major new West African project that IYE Corporation has embarked upon involves the purchase of a large tract of land for resort development.
Mr. Bongay is well respected in the communities that he has engaged economically for his consistently high morals, ethics, and values. Working in tandem with his wife, he supports the efforts of World Children’s Dreams to bring necessities such as food and clothing to underserved African youth. Soccer was a large part of Francis Williams Bongay’s life growing up in Sierra Leone, and he continues to enjoy the sport in his free time.
