Hawaii is six hours behind Eastern Time, which means national elections are often called before the state’s polls close. Possible solutions to this voter deterrent include abolishing the electoral college or letting Hawaii vote the day before the rest of the nation. Both pose challenges, of course. Munroe, however, says there are several reasons she won’t vote in the November election. Among them: Politics in Hawaii are too removed from the national scene.
