A mural dedicated to Oscar Grant, the subject of the new film, Fruitvale Station, was recently put up on Bedford and 6th Avenue in Williamsburg. Grant was killed in Oakland on New Year’s Day 2009 when a transit officer shot him in the back after detaining him.
