Deepavali (also spelled Devali in certain regions) or Diwali, popularly known as the “festival of lights”, is celebrated between mid-October and mid-November for different reasons. For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes.

Hey Guys,

My grandma was telling me about the festival of lights for hindu’s (Dewali, Depavali, or Devali). This year she ws telling me more things about it, to get in touch with my religion. I find it awesome every year to light little candle (Clay Lamps aka Diya’s) all around the house. Diwali is a wonderful time of year (and i agree). One thing my grandmother was telling me was thta it is a good time for a loved one to die, whick truthfully relieved me to feel soo much better now that my mama (not my mommy, my grandmother) sister died just a few days ago and I feel so much better that my grandmother had told me that it is actually a good time for a loved one to die. Well I’m wishing you all a happy, wonderful, and safe Diwali.

As always,

Dorri
