New review now online, here’s the summary:

Nestled in the beautiful courtyard of Barley Hall Macumba is a quaint little cocktail bar spread over several floors, although it does have very little space on the ground floor and usually the upper floors appear closed or taken over with private bookings. The décor is rather lavish but the excessive use of coloured LED lighting is somewhat contradictory and very gaudy. Being focused pretty much exclusively on cocktails there is barely anything else behind the bar to satisfy the beer lover and only bottles which are quite an expense. It does have a friendly and intimate atmosphere and they regularly have a DJ on which explains some of the flashing lights but we felt it was a bar more suited to those of a single persuasion. It can be a popular destination for later in the evening with its late licence, but the main selling point of this bar is the enclosed courtyard area, definitely amongst one of the better alfresco areas available. But other than that it is not really our cup of tea; it doesn’t stand out any different from all the other generic cocktail bars which are focused round the Swinegate Quarter or appeal with its limited range.
