My wonderful college friend Tim* has an uncanny knack for connecting with kids and has been tearing it up for years with various children’s music projects all over the city (and at Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, etc). He’s also totally cute, which is a serious bonus for the moms…
Anyway, he’s just created a new kid’s music group “Tim and the Space Cadets” with the goal to “write songs that exist somewhere in the realm between Raffi and Blink-182." Their debut video is above (also directed by another classmate. Yay for FCLC boys making good!) and if I had any little kidlets to share it with, I totally would. I think it’s pretty adorable. Besides, I was raised solely on Raffi and therefore have absolutely no taste in music. Save your kids from a similar fate!

Since I’m not a cool music person and never will be, I had no idea what Grooveshark was. But now that I’ve been made aware, I’m enjoying it so much more than Pandora.

It’s a collection of songs The Boss recorded in the mid-70s but never released, except as the occasional bootleg. Your new album is so pared down—it’s essentially you and the piano. How does that change the touring experience?
It’s a double–edged sword. On one hand, it’s much more traumatizing and treacherous and technically difficult because you’re just really out there and exposed. But on the other hand, I get the full paycheck at the end of the night.

Very happy to announce that I work here now (trust me, this was a tough one to keep to myself for the past few weeks). I’m beyond thrilled to join the Tumblr team as their resident Communications girl. Drop me a line and say hello!
It’s amazing how much six years feels like just yesterday and a lifetime ago, simultaneously.
In 2011, we were a whopping 25 people (which, coincidentally is the median age of both David and I at that time); an entire company that could fit (sort of) comfortably into one small conference room, count ¾ of its female employees on six feet, and offsite together in one house.
Now, we’re hundreds of people across multiple offices, about to go through an acquisition (again!) and I’m certainly no longer 26. So, while I wouldn’t change the last six years for anything, I know in my heart that it’s time for me to move on to the next adventure.
It’s impossible to sum up six plus years in one sappy tumblr post, so here are some of the greatest hits:

I don’t think I have anything to add that would be 1/1,000,000th as impactful as the stories women have been sharing this week. But please count me as one man standing with you in this fight.
Today I made a $1 million donation to Planned Parenthood. I urge more men to speak up and contribute. Women don’t get pregnant alone, and we owe them much more than our silent support in the political fight ahead.
