Just in time for the weather change comes an art and music gathering of epic proportions. Leg Up Studio, a Northeast Minneapolis printmaking studio, is gathering its members together for an eclectic showing that will hang in the Republic – 7 Corners event space for eight weeks, beginning this Sunday, April 28 with the opening reception.

Founded in 2011 by Edie Overturf, Lauren Schuppe and Gilpin Matthews, Leg Up Studio is a community printshop with facilities for Intaglio, lithography, woodcut/relief, letterpress, and screenprinting. Located in the Casket Arts Building, Leg Up Studio is a membership-based shop that promotes affordable, accessible outlets for creative-minded printmakers. In the two short years it’s been active, Leg Up Studio has made an impact in the Twin Cities arts community.

Marc Gartman’s Fever Dream will be the music portion of the evening on April 28. Gartman is based in Duluth, but under his moniker Fever Dream, he produces music that sounds like it came out of a vault from 1983. Gartman’s Fever Dream is an art project ode to a past era, re-imagined for listeners with luscious, layered synths.
