I find it unfortunate that there are words and letters and sounds in the english language who stick in some craws more easily than others, thus their usage goes on greatly undernourished.  Such as the letter K.  I look to the incredible bands who remain under many radars, perhaps because of the spelling of their name.  Maybe we can all kontribute this unfortunate situation to bands who delyberratelee myzpelle their names and seem to simultaneously misspell their moozaq.  For example Korn or Kaotik.  Perhaps my point is moot, yet I am compelled to loose my words regardless.  Some bands like Kylesa and Kiss receive, in my sideways opinion, exaggerated levels of praise while bands such as Keelhaul, Kowloon Walled City and Knut receive far, far too little.  I have had the inexpressible pleasure of seeing Keelhaul live and have seen no other band who could upstage their intensity and listless musicianship.  I have witnessed the unstoppable tonal perfection and song structure of Kowloon Walled City.  I have however not been previously blessed to cross paths with the Knut kamp (pronounced kuh-noot? NUTT? Kay-noo-tay? Who knows? I don’t care) and I wouldn’t dare open the can of worms which contains what bands from overseas I would trade an unsung amount of bands from this soil to be present for my current viewing.  Knut has held this category for years, for me.  I researched them for a moment and was actually surprised at the timeline of their releases.  If I’m able to read correctly, Knut, formed in 1994, only touched the Untidied States’ soil for their first time in august of 2001, with their album skewed to this silly place a few months earlier in April, by the large room in my heart previously occupied by Hydra Head Records, RIP.  Bottom line is this, kids: Even though I have never seen this swiss metal band live(which means I have only dipped my toes into their essence, I still remain bewildered at the intensity and pure brutality that is captured on record by Knut.  In this ever-growing in popularity genre this hunt and capture I speak of is at the forefront of the battle and seems to be the only strategy to win the war that doesn’t exist.  I have never heard music of the like (which today is rare to say the least) and as a cherry on top I have never heard a singer who could sound so ceaselessly PISSED…
