On sale at Opumo: Drake’s Prince of Wales Check Tie
Opumo, a This Fits’ advertiser, just started their summer sale. They’re a London-based online shop that specializes in quality menswear accessories, and the sale includes the likes of Mismo, Wood Wood, and the Herschel Supply Co., with discounts of up to 60% off.
My favorite item on sale is this Drake’s Prince of Wales check tie. The glen plaid is rendered in navy instead of the more traditional black or silver. It’s a slightly more contemporary take on the traditional wedding tie, but is still perfectly appropriate whether you’re the groom, a groomsman, or a guest. You can see what appears to be the same tie included in this wedding outfit by Australia’s Patrick Johnson Tailors.
The tie is on sale at Opumo for 40 GBP, with free shipping to addresses in the UK. If you’re in the United States like me, you’ll have to pay shipping but will also get a 20% VAT discount, which brings the tie out to just over $61 shipped.
That’s an incredible value given the original retail price ($145) and how hard it is to find discounts on Drake’s ties. In fact, I think that’s the best price I’ve ever seen for a new Drake’s tie, period.
