…here comes the heart break.
People are going to have strong, unchanging opinions when talking about something that they love. Supernatural has some of the most dedicated fans I have ever seen (the only other fandom that has the same dedication, that I can thank of, would be GLEE. Which I am a part of too).
So, I understand that people are going to be angry when a popular character is killed off. I try not to bash the writers (all though I hate Sera Gamble for breaking my heart, lol, I don’t think she is a terrible writer or is trying to destroy the show. This is where her money is coming from. That is reason enough for her to want it to be done well) but I can see why people do.
I don’t want Bobby to die yet I think this send off was fitting. Supernatural is notorious for shattering it's characters, gluing them back together with alcohol and guilt then tossing them onto the broken yellow lines of a highway leading anywhere a tank of gas and a road map will lead them. They are eternally broken and searching for a way to fill the voids in there life. Like saving people and hunting things. We knew that from the VERY beginning, we knew we wouldn’t get our happily ever after. We are just going to have to settle for a grimy hotel room and a smile every now and then.
And even though my heart literally hurts, I know this was a beautiful episode. The very end especially…it tore me up. But if Bobby has to go then I am glad it was this way.
I feel terrible for accepting Bobby’s death (which, in true Supernatural form, left an opening if they wanted him to return) when I cannot get a grip on Cas’. Now THAT was a not an appropriate send off. For people out there who didn’t like Cas' character etc. imagine if that they did that to your favorite character. Dean and Cas are mine and I would have been equally as distressed if was Dean. I really thought Cas was going to be there in the end. They didn’t hint around to anything else. No other character, except Bobby, ever played a role that major. He was on over 40 episodes, which is about a quarter of the entire series.
Anyway, I am just running off at the mouth. lol.. I don’t want to make anyone angry or irritate anyone with my bitching but I have decided that it might be unavoidable considering I complain…a lot…lol..
To some up all of my random little thoughts, this episode was beautiful. The moments between Dean and Bobby and Bobby, Dean and Sam were tearfully amazing, making me miss him even before he was gone and, if this really is the last time we see Bobby Singer, then let the heart break ensue.
Warning for possible spoilers
I was basically being dared to watch last nights episode of Supernatural and I was like:
..but I was afraid that something might happen and I wouldn’t be able to understand next weeks episode so, reluctantly, I say:
Then I see the creepy sadistic clowns (and I have an EXTREME fear of them popping out of the t.v. and biting me) and I was like:
..but then I saw the unicorn with rainbows coming out of his ass and:
So, all in all (including monster creepy “could possibly bite me” clowns) it was a pretty funny/entertaining episode.
Dean laughing was also an AMAZING bonus.
…
When I think about Supernatural coming back on tonight (finally) I am like…
..but then I remember what happened to Bobby on the last episode…
The First Time I Said “OMG” Out Loud…
…and thankfully no one heard me say it. lol..
I didn’t watch Supernatural until this morning (about 4 days after I taped it, I had a busy weekend) and I am pretty sure that my crying at the end of this episode was justified.
What more can they do to Bobby? I mean, they paralyze him, burn down his house and now they shoot him in the head?
What more can they do to Sam? He has a torrid affair with a demon, who he honestly believes is a good person, who turns out to be a harpy, send him to hell for a a little over a year, bring him back without a soul for longer, the scramble his brain up like a fried egg and have him have visions of his tormentor when he is brushing his teeth.
What more can they do to Dean? His brother goes to hell, he has a some what happy (although possibly drunk) existence with Lisa and Ben only to have that ripped away when he soulless brother comes back to bring him into hunting once again, HE is the one that has to make the choice to scramble Sam’s brain, then he looses his best friend.
Oh, and now their “father figure” had a bullet wound in his head and may possibly die all the while these bad ass sea beasts, Leviathan’s, are trying to take over the world one mutated poultry sandwich at a time.
Some people watch Days of Our Lives, we watch Supernatural. But instead of cocaine we have demon blood and instead of people with brain tumors and six months to live we have the selling of souls with one year contracts.
And yet even after watching Supernatural for around 7 years I was still shocked when Bobby got shot. I seriously have no idea whats going to happen.
I miss Cas more then ever. They keep bringing him up and it’s like a knife twisting in my heart. I am all but stomping my foot, pouting and demanding they put him back on the show.
Anyway, Mid-season finale this week and I just hope I am smiling at the end of the episode and not crying like this time. lol…
Supernatural Season 8
1. Why is it that Sam only gets a girlfriend when Dean is gone?
2. Personally, I think Benny is an interesting character that I would like to see more of but he CANNOT REPLACE CAS!
3. Where the fuck is Cas anyway? I am kinda tiered of them “killing” him off in the beginning of every season…
4. Is it just me or does everyone else think that Dean and Sam are incredibly hot this season. And I don’t care what anyone thinks, Sam (Jared’s) beautiful, luxurious hair is sexy.
5. You can tell just from the first episode that Supernatural is under new direction. No offence to Sera Gamble, but I believe Jeremy Carver is more in tune with what the fans want. Nothing seems forced, it’s all very natural and I felt like we have delved deeper into the boys relationship more in the first episode than we did in the past two seasons. Where she focuses more on the hunts etc. he focuses more on character relationships. And, personally, I prefer that.
Anyway, that’s just my opinion.
