NowThis is recruiting the Fall 2015 class of Editorial Fellows! We are seeking news junkies—with a clear visual style and voice—who have a desire to present stories in a smart, conversational tone for a social media-obsessed audience. This is a paid, full-time fellowship. We are looking for 5 fellows who can focus on the following teams:

Required Skills – Can you…

- Embody the NowThis editorial voice to create videos that are as concise as they are shareable?

- Understand why people want to share certain videos and not others?

- Bring a strong, innovative visual style to your work?

- Take a headline like “Congress To Vote On Keystone XL Pipeline ” and turn it into a short video that all your friends want to share?

- Work our mornings, nights, and weekends schedule?

- Be completely obsessed with social media?

Required Experience:

- Highly motivated, organized, self-starter. If you require a lot of management, you’re the wrong person for NowThis

- Experienced in Adobe Premiere (After Effects a bonus!)

- Comfortable jumping in on all aspects of production: Concept, Scripting, Editing

- Able to multitask, prioritize projects, and communicate progress

- Able to work under tight deadlines

- Concern for accuracy, intelligence, and attention to detail, especially with grammar and spelling

- Creative thinker with a sense of humor

- Problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot editing & technical problems

- Adept at identifying trends

- Good vibes

Preferred Experience:

- Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite

- Some proficiency with graphics

- At least one journalism internship

I ate ridiculous amounts of pork in Austin, Texas. So much that I’m considering going vegetarian the rest of the month. But I don’t regret a single bite.

Texas is known for its barbecue - its brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken -  so while I was there for a week covering SXSW for NowThis News, I wanted in on the smoky meat action.
