The tie John’s wearing in these pictures?
His old school tie, from Quarry Bank High School.
According to the Daily Mail, in 1975 he phoned his sister Julia to ask for some childhood mementos to be sent to him in New York, including his tie. He gave her £3,000 to cover the cost of shipping and said, “don’t tell Mimi”.
In 2007 Yoko wore his tie during a visit to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
