A friend of a coworker is headed to Toronto for the weekend and asked for tips and suggestions about where to go.
One of my suggestions was the Royal Ontario Museum. In my reply, I said:
The Royal Ontario Museum is pretty great, except for the disgusting glass and metal monstrosity they added to it. It is a blight on my city.
This was regarding the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal renovation to the ROM that opened in 2007.
I realized how much native Torontonians can sound like Parisians bitching about the glass pyramid at the Louvre.
Seriously, though. Ugly as fuck.
