Hurra! William Onyeabor’s Atomic Bomb! is headed to one of Europe'e biggest festivals to play Roskilde Festival in Denmark!! Special guests Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Dev Hynes, Luke Jenner and Kelela - and some very special guest surprises - will be joining the great Atomic Bomb Band! of Sinkane, Money Mark and Pat Mahoney (apparently our show is “the weekend’s most anticipated booking after The Rolling Stones!). Mr. Onyeabor himself actually spent some time in the country in the early 80s, and even shot the cover for his record "Hypertension” at the famous Tivoli park in central Copenhagen. Here he is a decade later, coaching the legendary Danish football team of 1992 to the European Championship in Sweden, where they beat Germany 2-0 in a stunning final. Go Willly, go!
Just announced, “Atomic Bomb! The music of William Onyeabor” will be going to Australia in the new year to be part of the wonderful Sydney Festival, featuring Gotye, Sinkane, Money Mark, Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem/Museum of Love), Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Luke Jenner (The Rapture) and the lovely Mahotella Queens from South Africa!

Dear friends, we are pleased to announce that our no-longer-top secret experiment with the Atomic Bomb! band has been super fun and successful (for once even The Brits and French agree!). Last week, Damon Albarn, Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, Ghostpoet and Kele Okereke from Blocparty came out to what became the first ever live performance of Mr. William Onyeabor’s music at the Barbican Center in London and Colston Hall in Bristol.
Led by our incredible music director Ahmed Gallab and his band Sinkane, other guests included Money Mark, Pat Mahoney from LCD Soundsytem, the lovely Lijadu Sisters (their first show in 30 years!), three fantastic horn players and two wonderful Yoruban drummers from Nigeria! The ensemble performed for the first time together, creating a performance of atomic bomb proportions.
Fellow friends living in America can catch our next round of shows happening May 2 & 3 in New York at BAM, May 6 in San Francisco at The Warfield, and May 8 in Los Angeles at The Greek. Expect killer performance from David Byrne, Alexis Taylor, Pat Mahoney, Money Mark, Sinkane, The Lijadue Sisters, Joshua Redman, and a special New York appearance from Luke Jenner and Devonté Hynes- as well as Kele Okereke in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Playing alongside Cat Power, Liars and loads of interesting acts from China, the show will be part of the worldwide Luaka Bop birthday party (celebrating 25 years in NYC and the world!!) - expect the best plate spinners and dog show you’ve ever seen - and a fantastic lineup of artists and special guests performing the futuristic Afro-Funk of William Onyeabor. Moravia, Kevin Harris and Anna Laytham of HellaCrisis in New York City, the box-set features four of Mr. Onyeabor’s original records (Good Name, Crashes in Love -version 2, Body and Soul and Hypertension), a 16 pages booklet written by Mike Rubin and the most beautiful poster you can ever imagine. It also includes an amazing new re-work (never previously released) of his song “Body and Soul” by PEAKING LIGHTS.
The box-set is a limited and hand numbered release that will be available on CD and LP only.
