HELP SAVE HARNESS RACING

(this is footage from my farm last summer, a place that is home to 50+ standardbreds and place of work for 15 ontarians. A place that will have no purpose in under 3 years time if the liberal government succeeds. 15 jobs gone out of the 60,000 that will cease to exist and 50 more horses to add to the thousands that will too no longer have a purpose.)

“We appreciate the government is facing difficult economic realities. However, the government should recognize the significant private sector investment made in breeding, training and farm operations, along with related infrastructure, all of which have huge economic spinoffs to all levels of government,” said Sue Leslie president of the OHRIA. “It is important that the government and Ontario Horse Racing Industry Association (OHRIA) work together on a transformation plan to ensure a strong core industry that allows for economic growth and job maintenance for the thousands of individuals who earn their livelihood in horse racing and breeding.”
