It’s Opening night for @HeathersMusical: If you don’t see this, that’s your damage.
So, I don’t often “plug” things, or review things. I’m not a critic, I don’t have the fancy words or insight on Broadway or Off-Broadway stuffs… I’m just a guy that likes to rant about politics.
But contrary to what it must seem like, I get out. I do things. And occasionally I see things that make amaze me. That’s what happened here.
Last week, I had a chance to see the preview for “Heathers - The Musical” which was… fantastic. A dark and funny musical about teen bullying that had equal parts bite and heart.
And music that still runs in the background of my head. Honestly, my subconscious hasn’t battled a soundtrack like that since “Book of Mormon.” No small feat.
So if you’re in New York, I highly recommend. If you’re going to New York, I highly recommend. If you’re in New Jersey and the bridge isn’t blocked, try to get into New York and see it. I highly recommend.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this production. You should be proud.
