Yeahhh… I’ve been slackin’. Life got in the way. And nobody’s paying me for this so deadlines sorta slid a little lot. Bad news is life doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon, so I’m shooving four together to save time. Sorry I’m not sorry.

- #5 Kopecky Family Band Kids Raising Kids
Indie Folk + Rock - Who? Exactly. I’ll be honest, I’m probably being a little biased having met the band on their pass through Austin. But really though, I was a massive fan of the album well before they performed their shiny faces off. It’s like The Head and The Heart and Local Natives and everyone else you love right now. Plus they whistle their arses off like Pacific Air. This album is amazing and it’s needs to be in your rotation. “Heartbeat” is their first single, but also check out “Hope” and “Wandering Eyes” and “Are You Listening” and “The Glow” and ohjustgolistentothewholethingdammit. - #4 Daft Punk Random Access Memories
Funkadelic EDM - Easily the most highly-anticipated album of the year. And it was worth the wait. They’re back; bigger and better than ever. And what better time to return now that EDM is becoming more and more mainstream? I’m not gonna dive much into this album because everyone knows about it, but I will say it’s deserving of a top-10 spot on the 2013 best albums list. - #3 The National Trouble Will Find Me
Indie Rock - The National are one of those bands you either like or you don’t; they’re polarizing. Every band has it’s place though. And the showered and blue-blazered boys from Bloodbuzz Ohio have definitely found a massive place on my album shelf. The album continues the norm of Berninger’s thoughtfully touching lyrics interlaced with awesome music. "Demons“ and ”Don’t Swallow The Cap“ were the albums first singles, but be sure to check out ”I Should Live In Salt,“ ”Sea of Love“ and ”Graceless“ for non-radio gems. (iTunes / Google Play / Amazon)
- #2 Vampire Weekend Modern Vampires of the City
Indie Pop Rock - Another long awaited album, following their stupidly great Contra from 2010, MVOTC is just what the doctor ordered. This is what VW fans have been craving since we first heard some of the new stuff at SXSW 2013…where they killed it. And gone are the days of going to a VW show on the cheap and having plenty of elbow room. Gone! Every track is catchy, as always, with first single ”Diane Young“ racing up the charts early on and ”Unbelievers“ the current single on the radio. ”Step“ and personal favorite ”Ya Hey“ have seen airplay on satellite radio.
