Sign language helping hearing kids communicate better

teach-with-your-hands:

Now if we could just provide sign language access to all of our deaf kiddos that would be wonderful.

Posted with apologies to people from Latin America. No, the person in the picture isn’t swearing, they’re fingerspelling the letter “t” in American Sign Language (used by Deaf people in the US and English speaking Canada). For hearing people in the US who don’t sign, this is just a random handshape with no meaning. In the US, the raised middle finger is used to express the same concept usually intended by this handshape in Latin America.
