(beauty) my hairs

(that’s a hat made of hair.)

I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that caring for my hair is at the top of my beauty routine. Between the costs of upkeep at the salon, plus styling time in the bathroom, it’s definitely the biggest investment I make into the way I look. And if you think about it, it’s probably yours, too, no?

I like my hair long and with great length comes great responsibility. Mostly, I gotta keep this mane moisturized, frizz-free and all around in good condition. I can’t just go lobbing off 6 inches every time my ends split ya know? So between regular trims, I rely on a few standby tricks and products like applying copious amounts of whatever version of Moroccan/argan oil I have on hand; rarely blow drying my hair; and great conditioner. And after a summer full of outdoor activities and beaching it up as often as possible, my hair needs a little extra TLC to get it ready for fall.

I’ve long been a fan of Dove products and their hair product line is a new favorite. I’ve tried out the intensive repair daily treatment conditioner to correct some summer damage, and it’s really done the trick. The first time I used it, the next day I kept touching my hair wondering why it was so soft when I remembered my new conditioner. It’s a thick formula, but not too thick for my fine hair to use every day (or realistically, I only wash my hair closer to every other day or every other, other day). And the price of Dove conditioner is way, way more affordable than some other brands I know and love (I’m looking at you Frederic Fekkai), which makes it possible to purchase over and over again. Anywho, I’m happy to report that Dove hair products are really as great as the commercials lead you to believer.

Now, I’m curious about their styling products. Have you tried any out?

Oh, and I’ve got a real treat now for ya! Keep reading….
